With the Christmas season over and the New Year underway, many of us will be feeling the financial strain and struggling to stretch paychecks until the end of the month.
To help ease into the long January ahead, Asda has announced it will be cutting the price of thousands of products as part of its Big Jan Price Drop initiative.
This month, shoppers can save on 2,560 discounted items, including everyday supermarket essentials and household staples.
With average reductions of 26%, it’s the perfect opportunity to stock up on products without breaking the bank.
There are plenty of items to choose from. For example, Cathedral City Mature Cheddar 300g was £3.75, but with the price drop, it’s now £2.50. Asda Chicken Breasts are also down from £4.40 to £4, while 450g jars of Dolmio Bolognese have been reduced from £2.50 to £1.50, and Persil Wonder Wash was £7 but is now just £3.
This standout deal will be a welcome one for parents too: Pampers Dry Nappies are available at £6 less, down from £10 to £4.

The price drops are running throughout January and are available both in-store and online.
David Hills, chief customer officer at Asda, said: ‘We know that as we come out of the festive period, budgets can be a concern for many families.
‘Our Big Jan Price Drop aims to ease that burden and make money stretch further for our customers by reducing the prices of the products they’re buying week in, week out, continuing to offer uncompromising value to all.’
Asda is also continuing its £1 winter warmer cafe meal deal throughout January and February to support over-60s during the colder months.
Customers can enjoy soup, a roll and unlimited tea and coffee for just £1 in any of the retailer’s 205 cafes – with a whopping 400,000 meals having been served up so far.
